Our store is carefully curated.
We feature books and artisan items linked to social justice, planet-friendly living, historically marginalized communities, and the magic of the Hudson Valley.
If you are a local author or artisan with a product that addresses one or more of the categories above, we’re happy to hear from you. That said, please keep in mind the following:
Books
We generally order 1 or 2 copies of any new book - even the best-sellers - since we are primarily a “pre-loved” bookstore.
Given the relatively small number of new books carried, we strongly favor those that are available through Ingram Distributors. (We will order bulk copies through publishers if we expect an author event to draw a large audience.)
Artisan Products
Artisan products are selected with price point, customer appeal, and overall store aesthetic in mind. Please don’t be offended if we cannot carry your product at this time.
If we choose to carry your product, we will either purchase an order at your wholesale price OR offer your product through a 60:40 consignment arrangement.
For both author and artisan consideration, please email Amy (the owner), and answer these questions (max 500 words):
1- What is your product or book?
2- How does it fulfill our eco-social values?
3- Tell us a little about yourself, including your inspiration for your work.
4- How would your product fit into our store?
5- What are your expectations from having your book, author event, or product in our store?
6- Please include a link to your website and/or social media site(s).
