Join authors Elana Michelson and Larry Bush for a conversation about justice, memory, and the counterculture through the lens of generational change. Elana’s new book, Part of the Solution, grapples with issues of authority, resistance, and love in an age of protest, leading us to ask a question that is just as pertinent now as it was in the 70s: What is justice?
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Prison Books Project.
Elana Michelson is a native New Yorker now living with wife Penny in the Hudson Valley, where she writes, reads, gardens, and volunteers with local social justice organizations. After thirty-five years as a professor, she has put down a beloved career of academic writing (and student papers) in favor of writing murder mysteries. She earned a PhD in English from Columbia University, but gained her knowledge of the life and times of Part of the Solution by, well, having been there.
Lawrence Bush is editor emeritus of Jewish Currents magazine and the author of numerous books, including two novels, HYMAN and BESSIE: A NOVEL OF LOVE AND REVOLUTION. He is currently co-editor of ALTE: Getting Old Together and plays guitars in a jazz duo and trio called Starlight. He also runs a mail-art project called Babushkin's Playhouse (babushkinsplayhouse.org).
