The Short Attention Span Book Club is a lunchtime reading group designed for less reading time and more discussion. We will be diving into tough topics, with particular attention to social justice related themes. This Book Club is facilitated by the Sing Sing Prison Museum (SSPM).
The group meets one Tuesday each month, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at our bookstore.
We are excited because this fall we are featuring readings curated by SSPM’s Summer Teshuvah Fellow Adam Roberts. Robert brings a unique set of justice impacted experiences to our readings. The SSPM team think you will be as inspired by these readings as we have been. Please join ius so we can learn what you think! Roberts will be leading our book club discussions as we take a new approach to this repeating program.

About the Short Attention Span Fall 2026 Curator
Adam Roberts spent 26 years in New York State prisons and came home in October 2025. He is a writer and multidisciplinary artist. His memoir Concrete Carnival was published in 2016 under a pen name and is being reissued this year under his own name. His writing has appeared in The Marshall Project, Hyperallergic, and at the Vera Institute of Justice. He is a 2026 Haymarket Books Writing Freedom Fellow and a fellow of the American Prison Writing Archive. He draws, paints murals, and makes comics. He curates the Short Attention Span Book Club at Hudson Valley Books for Humanity.
